AD group software
In the Self-Service Software services we have previously have functionality for SCCM Software in our on-premise connection. Now you can also link the Software service to one or multiple organizational units in your AD and then utilize groups as Software. Items for Software meta data will automatically be created for each group in the specified OU. The same meta data as was previously available for SCCM software can now be set for the AD group software. As an administrator you can manage the meta data for each software and also enable/disable them. As an end user you can request the activated software, then you or your computer will then be added to the specified group.
A new service for tenant administration have been created. This will make creating and managing existing tenants much easier. Work will continue on this server in the next iteration before we will enable it for relevant users.
Tenant and personal time zones
Now you can set a time zone both on tenant level and on personal level. The tenant time zone will be used on all users if they have no personal time zone set. This time zone will be used to show the time in the portal and in the emails.
Multiple approvers on Software requests
We have expanded the state flow for software requests. Now the default state flow will support two different approvals to cover the standard approval scenario of having a manager approval and a system owner/license owner. You will be able to regular approval on the software meta data as well as assigning a specific approver.
In the next iteration we will work on enabling user collections in our SCCM Software services, right now we only support device collections. We will also make it easier to edit the standard forms and hooks, it will work similar to how you can edit standard state flows in today’s version. This will enable both customers and consultants to do changes to standard functionality much easier. Work on tenant administration will continue and we will work on create/disable tenant functionality and interfaces. We will also start working more on polishing existing Self-Service functionality. Finally we will also begin working on expanding the service for managing users, now you should be enable and disable as well as changing password for a user if you are an administrator.
